AP & Dual Enrollment Courses

Starkville Academy offers six advanced placement courses. To teach an AP course, faculty must be AP certified. Starkville Academy also offers five dual credit courses in conjunction with Mississippi University for Women. Student eligibility requirements for these courses include a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and 14 core high school units. Additionally, a minimum ACT subscore of 17 is required for Dual Credit English Composition I and a minimum ACT subscore of 19 for Dual Credit College Algebra. Faculty certification requirements to teach a dual credit course include a master's degree with at least 18 hours earned in the subject area being taught. All five dual credit courses through MUW are taught at Starkville Academy by SA faculty members.
