Anchor Club meeting on Tuesday during homeroom in the cafeteria.

Mock Trial:  Students in grades 9-12 who are interested in being a part of the mock trial team need to sign up in the high school office by Friday, September 27.

Mary Barnhill will have an ACT Prep Workshop at Oak Hill Academy on October 12th and 19th from 9-4.  The student should attend both days.  Cost is $150 and forms are available outside Mrs. Hubbard's office.  Deadline to register is September 27th.

Volunteer Opportunity- The United Way is in need of students to man stations at their fundraiser walk around the lake at the MSU Sanderson Center on Saturday, October 12th starting at 8am.  See Mrs. Hubbard for more information.

Crown Club Members:  cheese cake order deadline is 10/25.

Juniors and Seniors- Applications for the US Senate Youth Program are online at with a deadline of October 11. Two MS students will be awarded an all-expense-paid trip to Washington DC in March of 2020 and a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship.  Students must hold a leadership position in student government, an educational or civic organization.   A Public Affairs Exam is part of the application.  See the website or ask Mrs. Hubbard for more information.

Students in grades 5-12 are eligible to apply now for the 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Qualifying applicants will receive an award and are eligible to earn a $1000 scholarship, a medallion and all-expense-paid trip to Washington DC with a parent for 4 days of recognition events in May 2020.  Deadline is November 5 and more information and to apply go to

2019 Yearbook:  If you would like to purchase a yearbook, there is a limited supply on hand in the media center and the cost is $80.

MSU Fall Preview Days- October 14th, November 11 and November 25.  Registration will go live on September 16th at 9am at and there is a $10 fee.

Ole Miss Saturday Visit Days- September 28th and December 7th. Fall Visit Day is October 12. Register 8 weeks prior to the event at

MUW will host Navigating Nursing and Health Sciences on their campus for juniors and seniors interested in that field.  This is a hands on learning experience that will include a tour.  To register, see Mrs. Hubbard.
