Began teaching at Starkville Academy in 2001
I have a B.S. in English from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. I
also have a minor in journalism and biology.
I teach core classes in seventh and eighth grade English. These courses
cover basic grammar and writing. Literature is studied and analyzed with
emphasis in literary analysis. Basics in writing are covered with
emphasis on paragraph structure and creative writing. Technical aspects
will be mastered.
I began my career in reporting after graduation. I served with the Salem
Times Register as a writer and editor. While there I was nominated for
an award as a new and upcoming journalist in Virginia by the Virginia
Press Association.
I received the Starkville Daily News People's Choice Award for Best
Secondary Teacher in 2006.
I sponsor Starkville Academy's Key Club. I sponsored the Junior Varsity
Dance Team in 2005 and 2006. The team received two MPSEA state
championship titles.
