The resource program at Starkville Academy began in 1993, and was originally started for students with diagnosed learning disabilities. Today, it also includes students whose grades are below a C average and those students who are new to the academy. The emphasis is on bringing the student up to grade level in math and reading, while teaching them study skills they can apply on their own.
